One of the things that put us off thinking of or even discussing if we have debts is, the worry of actually having them, which may be frustrating. So, how do we overcome this and make us be the person that does something about it?
Simply, we have to make sure that we look at the future - I mean the positive future. We all have one - even though we think we won't have one. There is always a positive in repaying debts as well.
Let's us think that in 2 years time we are completely debt free and have a savings base of $5,000 after paying of debts. How will that make you feel compared to now? After seeing this picture in your mind, we now need to look at the present and see what we have to do to change our lifestyle. Review what we spend in a way that we will still be able to still enjoy life. Review our costs and/or expenses, see how we can turn a negative into a positive.
Are we spending too much on something that is actually not needed within our lifestyle? There could be many examples to choose from, to find avenues to rectify the debt:
Another goal to go for is when this debt is paid and then there is that feeling of ' release from debt', reducing your financial burdens and that self- satisfaction knowing you can do it. Yes, no matter how good or how bad your debts are: feel positive, strong, having the desire to see a bright future positive outcome for yourself, is the desired affect. Build that confidence up and never think it is a criminal crime to have a debt - and never leave your debt alone.

- From going out every night for dinner costing $30 a night, per person to staying at home per night, costing $15 per person - a savings of $105 per week. Occasion going out for dinner etc, is up to each individual choice.
- Purchasing 10 packets of biscuits per shopping week reducing to 5 packets per shopping week reducing costs by $25.00
- Instead of spending $150 per week on yourself for clothes - reduced to $50 per week - savings of $100 per week.
The thing here, is for you to chose the way you will change your lifestyle, even if it is a slight difference. The difference in lifestyle, should not stop you from visiting friends and family and enjoy your life. Yet, will may make you think how once your debt is paid, if your $100 a week was placed into savings instead of repayments how would you feel. Especially, after making the repayments for the last 2 years, for example?
Changing your lifestyle even slightly provides a high chance of a great ending reward. The 'Ball and chain' of the debt images - disappears!
